Crestron 16x16 DigitalMedia Switcher Description
Invite the DM-MD16X16-CPU3 16x16 Digital Media Switcher and upgrade your residential or commercial audio/video setup. This robust solution with its redundant features, makes it effortless for you to manage and distribute exceptional audio and video signals. The DM-MD16X16-CPU3 delivers an advanced 4K60 4:4:4 audio/video signal routing solution to provide the foundation for a complete DigitalMedia system.
What separates this outstanding AV solution from other competitive devices is the fact that it delivers ultra-fast switching and lossless distribution of HDMI and other signals to support digital media players, HDTV receivers, cameras, computers, and display devices. In addition, it is also configurable to handle up to 16 audio/video sources. The outputs of this device are configurable as well, to provide up to 16 DM, HDBaseT, and/or HDMI outputs, or up to 8 H.264 streaming outputs, in a single chassis. The DM-MD16X16-CPU3 16x16 Digital Media Switcher operates on the 3‑Series platform to provide industry-grade security.
Without additional wiring, the DM‑16X16‑CPU provides you with a complete connectivity solution combined with the built-in Crestron control for managing displays and other room devices, thanks to the integrated USB distribution and Ethernet networking. In addition, operations, setup, and troubleshooting can be managed and controlled via the provided front panel, or you could take advantage of Crestron Toolbox software.
EDID Format Management:
When one source is routed to several displays or audio components, conflicts may occur. DigitalMedia technology maintains the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) that devices utilise to communicate. The format and resolution capabilities of each device may be estimated using Crestron Toolbox software, enabling the installer to appropriately configure EDID.
Versatile Audio Routing:
Dolby® TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, and DTS HD Master Audio all feature 7.1 surround sound formats and the best cable to handle and deliver outstanding quality is an HDMI cable. The DM‑16X16‑CPU3 enables users to share Dolby® TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS HD Master Audio, audio sources with multiple audio zones, and simultaneously distribute multiple channel surround sound and dual channel stereo signals from the same HDMI source.
To enable sharing with Sonnex® Multiroom Audio System or any other audio distribution system, the digital stereo signal is converted to analogue. Through optional local HDMI outputs, the DM16X16CPU3 also enables surround sound processors and amplifiers to be located centrally rather than at the location of the display.
Built‑in Ethernet Switch:
Swiftly connect your Ethernet cable to the integrated Ethernet switch and a gigabit LAN port. In addition to transporting quality audio and video signal, a DigitalMedia system is available for extending up to 100 Mbps Ethernet link to each display and source device through a select DM receiver and transmitter. This provides super speed connectivity for all room devices that require LAN connection. Additionally, Ethernet is used internally by the Crestron control bus to operate the displays in each room and manage the DM devices in the system.
USB Signal Routing:
The DM‑16X16‑CPU3 affords USB HID (Human Interface Device) signal routing, making it possible to use a USB HID-compatible keyboard and/or mouse to control local devices that are installed in different locations. Transmitters, select DM receivers and input cards have USB HID connections. Connect a USB over Ethernet Extender host module (USB EXT DM LOCAL) to a host that you want to communicate with and install a device module (USB EXT DM REMOTE) at each display position to connect keyboards, game controllers, mice, or other devices.
