RMC4 4-Series Control System Description
Built in a small form factor for easy placement on table, desk, DIN rail or anywhere you want it to be; the Crestron RMC4 offers a highly secured performance control processor and interface for monitoring and controlling small audio/video systems, single display device, lighting and shading, climate control, energy management, security and many other specialised applications. This high performance device also offers versatile attachment behind display screens and projectors.
4-Series Control Engine
The Crestron RMC4 comes with a built-in 4-Series control system which is laced with an upgraded multi-core CPU, providing an increased speed and performance compared to all Crestron 3‑Series® control processors. The upgraded 4-Series control system is able to handle the increasing demands of an advanced automated system.
The integrated dependable networking and IP control manages systems with other devices, with add-on control capability using Crestron touch screens, mobile device apps, and wireless remotes, as well as remote management through Crestron Fusion software and the XiO Cloud® service.
Onboard Control Ports
Attach a wide variety of devices, including audio, video, lighting, motorised shades, thermostats, door locks, sensors, and security systems through the provided full complement of onboard control ports.
The Ethernet port provides an interface application for connecting to wired network systems and controlling the Crestron AV switchers, power controllers, audio processors and other IP controllable equipment.
Support for Crestron lighting dimmers, motorised shades, sensors, thermostats, keypads, and other devices is provided by Cresnet network connectivity.
Direct integration with all kinds of external equipment is made possible via onboard RS-232, IR, relay, and digital input control connections.
Crestron control port extension modules, Ethernet to Cresnet bridges, wired Ethernet I/O extenders and Wi-Fi® network I/O extenders (all sold separately) can all be used to give the RMC4 with increased connectivity.
Modular Programming Architecture
By default, the Crestron RMC4 is designed to run a single programme; however, the optional modular programming architecture (MPA) add-on empowers the RMC4, making it possible to simultaneously run up to ten programmes. Programmers can develop and run independent or device-specific programmes, enabling each to be optimised for a particular function and also making it possible to manage programmes when there is a need for change to a particular one, without affecting the entire system.
Crestron Fusion Room Monitoring and Scheduling
Create a friendly environment by saving energy and enhancing work productivity. The integration of Crestron Fusion is to create smart buildings that reduce stress and improve workers' productivity. It reduces energy consumption by tracking real-time usage and automating control of AV, lighting, shades, and HVAC. Being part of a completely managed network in a corporate enterprise, convention centre, college campus, or any other facility, the RMC4 works with Crestron Fusion to allow remote monitoring, scheduling, and control of rooms and technology from a central help desk or mobile app.
XiO Cloud Provisioning and Management
The purpose of the XiO Cloud services is to allow users of 4-Series control systems to remotely monitor, provision, and manage both supported Crestron and third-party devices across an enterprise network. The control system may be completely operational as soon as it is linked to the network by using XiO Cloud to configure and load programmes before it is delivered.
In addition, the XiO Cloud which is built on Microsoft® Azure® software platform runs on the market-leading Azure IoT Hub technology from Microsoft. This allows installers and IT administrators to deploy and manage thousands of devices, using XiO Cloud in a fraction of the time it used to take to handle just one. Azure services offer infinite scalability to accommodate an enterprise's continuously expanding needs, in contrast to alternative virtual machine-based cloud options.
SNMP V3 and BACnet Support
Integration of third-party IT management software is made possible, thanks to the built-in SNMP V3. It allows network managers to manage and control Crestron systems on the network in an IT-friendly format.
Integration with HVAC, security, and other systems is made simpler by native support for the BACnet communication protocol, which offers a direct Ethernet interface to external building management systems. Each system operates independently while collaborating on a single platform using BACnet.
PoE Network Powered
Bundled with a powerful connectivity interface that eliminates the need for a power supply, the RMC4 gets powered directly from the LAN wiring. A Power over Ethernet injector (PWE‑4803RU) simply connects in line with the LAN cable at a convenient location. Crestron PoE switches (CEN‑SW‑POE-5 or CEN‑SWPOE‑16) may also be used to provide a total networking solution with built-in PoE.
**Note that this package does not include PoE and Injectors.
