About This Product
  • Rack-mountable
  • Wall-mountable
  • 24 x 10/100/1000 + 2 x Gigabit SFP
This switch is managed, so it takes a quick minute to connect a pc or mac via LAN RJ45 Cat5 cable to setup the IP address.
The HP 1810-24G v2 is inaudible being fan-less. Easily configured through any web browser. A very clean interface with more capability than most users need, but a very low cost for a managed switch, when you need a feature such as Link Aggregation.
It includes rack mounting hardware, and for me simple padded feet on four bottom corners. LEDs are above the ports on the front. Menu option to reduce brightness or turn off the LEDs at a certain time every night
SNTP time setup over the internet. Advanced features for Spanning Tree, VLAN Tagging, LLDP, SNMP and simple toggle Security for DoS and Storm Control. I ignored most of the features, moving all my home run network cables from the DLink 10/100/1000T 24-port DGS-1024D over to the HP 1810, noticing an immediate improvement in response time throughout the network. Very visual, intuitive port visualization. I love all of the many quick Status pages, most of all the MAC table for the learned devices. I quickly selected them, drag drop into Excel to quick setup cross reference for my IP addresses in the network.
Note for Synology DSM 1513, 1812 and 1813 Network Attached Storage, or other storage devices which can aggregate performance of multiple 1Gb nics. It couldn't have been simpler. I was backing up a Windows Home Server with Data Replicator while I setup the link aggregation, with a minor blip during the LAG creation, noticing the time to backup a few TB decreasing, but finding it much easier to see the MB/s improvement as a simple counter from the Mac speed test tool
The series includes 8- and 24-port Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet models and a 48-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. Specific models include SFP ports for fiber connectivity. All models support flexible deployment options, including mounting on walls, under tables, or on desktops. Some models are fanless, making them ideal for office deployments
