The ML590 can "read and learn" the paper you feed it thanks to a special patented technology called OKIsmart Paper Handling. It then adjusts the head gap to the ideal distance for the greatest print quality. Additionally, it uses less time to load and reload paper stock and offers a longer printer life.

The patented sensor integrated into the ML590 printhead determines the exact amount of time and force required to print each dot, essentially removing uneven printing.
