	Includes Western Digital Red Hard Drives This QNAP UX-500P includes the popular Western Digital Red hard drive for NAS devices and is designed and tested for compatibility in the unique 24x7 operating environment for the demanding system requirements of home and small office Network Attached Storage (NAS). Built in NASware optimises power use resulting in significant power savings and lower hard drive operating temperatures. This improves the overall reliability and performance of the drive and reduces the NAS cost of ownership.

The Turbo NAS will automatically detect the hard drives in this QNAP UX-500P expansion module as newly installed local drives. Missing mode protection If this QNAP UX-500P expansion module is accidentally disconnected, the Turbo NAS enters missing mode and blocks I/O access to protect the stored data. The system can then recover from the missing mode to the normal state with data staying intact.
