The 4501 shares your iPhone, Android phone or 3G/4G/LTE modem, or fixed broadband connection with multiple devices. It also provides an advanced firewall and wireless security. Better than smartphone hotspots in wireless range, security, compatibility, and phone battery conservation. The 4501 will not only conserve the battery, but even charge a connected smartphone! When connected to both a 3G/4G modem and cable or DSL broadband, the 4501 provides automatic failover from DSL or cable service to cellular data service. The 4501 can also used to expand the range and enhance the data rate of a mobile broadband connection..
	Just place the 4501 and attached modem where a cellular signal is best, typically near a window. The Model 4501 then completes the local connection to client devices with a robust wireless-N signal. Up to 253 client devices can share a mobile broadband Internet service with a range of up to 330 feet. Over 450 3G or 4G USB modems, Android phones and select iPhones (iOS 5.0 and earlier) are supported as cellular data devices. A complete list of supported devices is available on the Zoom Telephonics Web site (zoom.net). The 4501 is configurable as either a Broadband Router or as a Wireless Repeater to extend the range of a network. Wireless LAN speed is up to 150 Mbps.
Supported wireless security modes include: WEP, WPA, WPA2. WPS is supported for easy wireless security setup. Router features include an SPI firewall, VPN Pass-through, remote management, UpnP. The 4501 provides router, wireless access point, and firewall functions for DSL or cable modems connected through a WAN Ethernet interface. An Ethernet LAN port supports a wired Ethernet client, or an Ethernet switch. A wide range of WAN connection protocols are supported, including: static IP, dynamic IP (DHCP client), PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE. The 4501 is produced and supported by Zoom Telephonics, a Boston-based producer of quality communication products since 1977.
